About

This is an online visual "museum" display that showcases the history of hair and its importance in expressing identity. In this display, I specifically aim to explore how different hairstyles popularly worn by African Americans throughout the years have reflected on the past and present society.

This museum invites you to explore a wide range of topics in a way that encourages individual interpretation and reflection. The goal is to create an immersive environment that gives individuals the opportunity to explore, reflect, and interpret the pieces on your own without further descirptions.

TASK

Through these simplified drawings, I invite you to visually see and think about the varying contexts of each hairstyle. From emotions and values to culture and trends, how is it reflected on the hairstyle that were worn during those era and the contemporary society?
